How are Ring Sizes Measured?
The ring sizes that we offer are standardized, in order to assist our customers with finding the perfect sizes for their needs. Sometimes, men and women decide not to order online, simply because they fear ordering a ring that just won’t fit correctly. You may rest assured that following the tips listed here will help you to enjoy a ring that fits to perfection.
The first step is dropping by a local jewelry store. Try on a few rings, noting the size that is right for you. This takes just a couple of minutes, and it’s absolutely the best way to ensure that you order the proper size for your hand. If you’re buying for someone else, you may want to take them to a jeweler, or note the size of the rings that he or she currently wears.
When ordering, bear in mind that the width of a ring will play a role in how it fits and which size you should order. When trying on rings before ordering from us, note the width of the design, along with its size. If you need help getting these measurements, a competent local jeweler should be able to assist you.
Once you’ve found out your preferred ring size, simply order the same size from our company. If you like, drop us a line via email, and we’ll be more than pleased to answer any questions that you have: leighm@irishcelticjewels.com
Instead of settling for a design that doesn’t fulfill your dreams, be sure and select a meaningful, symbolic and beautiful Celtic design. You will be so glad that you did.
How are Jewelry Widths Measured?
When rings are measured for width, the band part of the ring is used to get an accurate assessment. With wedding bands, which are usually the same size all around, any point on the ring will do.
Our exquisite pendants, such as our traditional Cross designs, are measured from left to right. The front of the pendant should be facing the person who measures it.
For earrings, the width is also calculated by measuring from left to right, while facing the piece of jewelry.
How do You Make White Gold White?
White gold is composed of a special alloy that gives it its gleaming white hue. White elements are added to gold, creating a compound that gives gold more durability and resistance to damage, while also making it silver-white. Rhodium plating is the final step in creating truly beautiful white gold, as it adds significant reflectivity and whiteness.
I see 2 almost-identical designs in your store. Why is there such a price difference?
There are a variety of reasons why our handcrafted jewelry designs vary in price, even when they appear to be identical. Usually, variations in price are related to the types of metal or gemstones that are used while creating the piece. For example, 10 karat gold will cost less than 14k gold. 14k gold will cost less than 18k gold. Designs made from affordable sterling silver will cost less than all forms of gold.
The heavier the piece, means there’s more precious metal used and therefore it will cost more, even though the designs might look almost the same size in the photos we display. Small differences in weight can mean a significant difference in price.
The type of diamonds used in a piece will also impact the price of the design. For example, one diamond may have greater clarity or heavier karat weight. When precious, genuine gemstones are used in our pieces, they will cost more than lab-created, CZ gemstones.
What Metal Types do You Offer?
At Irish Celtic Jewels, we are proud to offer sterling silver jewelry, as well as 10k, 14k and 18k gold designs. Our gold pieces are often available in your choice of white gold or yellow gold finishes. Some of our pieces have stunning, two-toned gold finishes. Two-toned designs tend to go with all other jewelry, so they are practical, as well as being lovely to look at.
To give you the choices that you need, we also offer a platinum option on selected items. This means that you may email us for a quote on a platinum design. We’ll assess the current, fair market value of platinum, which fluctuates, and then send you an estimate.
Does your Jewelry Tarnish?
Yes, all sterling silver designs, including the ones that we sell, may tarnish. However, it’s very easy to remove tarnish from sterling silver jewelry. In most cases, using a safe silver polish will do the trick. Sometimes, warm, soapy water is all that’s needed to remove tarnishing.
Our gold and platinum designs will not tarnish. However, platinum may take on a patina of wear over time, which is easily removed by buffing. Many people actually welcome platinum patina, as it adds significant character to the appearance of this type of jewelry.
Do You Offer a Guarantee?
Yes, we do. We guarantee the quality of every design that we offer. If there is a defect in the jewelry that we send to you, we’ll take it back and then send you a new piece that will fully meet your expectations.
In addition, we prove the quality and purity of our designs by having each piece of handmade jewelry stamped at the Assay Office of historic Dublin Castle.
If you buy diamond jewelry through our company, you’ll receive diamond certification paperwork (on selected diamond rings) with your new design. Diamond certification is performed independently, in a lab.
Are your Diamonds Conflict-free?
Yes. We never sell conflict diamonds. We only work with ethical diamond suppliers.
