Reno, Nevada goes Celtic each autumn as the annual Reno Celtic Celebration comes to town.
This lively festival honors the beauty and history of Celtic culture, by offering a range of traditional entertainment and activities, including bagpipe bands, Celtic folk music, step dancing, and a unique Heritage area that allows visitors to step back in time and experience the wonders of medieval Celtic life.
Held at Bartley Ranch, this year’s get-together features headlining musicians who are world-renowned for their talent and their Celtic-inspired tunes.
Entertainers who are slated to appear at this year’s festival include Tempest (Celtic rock), Molly’s Revenge (they play fiddles and traditional Celtic drums), and the Celtic Sessiun Musicians (join them for a jam if you’re musically inclined!).
This family-friendly event also features a selection of Celtic Critters, who will be participating in exhibitions, while also offering children a petting zoo experience. Animals to be featured at the festival include Border Collies, Kerry Blue Terriers, Connemara ponies, Irish Setters and Welsh Corgis (among many others).
Throughout the Reno Celtic Celebration, dancers will add vibrant beauty and movement to the proceedings, offering festival attendees live performances that feature country dancing, step dancing, and Highland dancing. The festival features a special dance stage, so be sure to catch a few performances while strolling the grounds.
