The Newport Waterfront Irish Festival will be held at the Newport Yachting Center in Newport, Rhode Island this September 3rd-5th, 2011.
Designed to offer something to all age groups, this celebration features extensive pipe and drum exhibitions, a Rainbow’s End play area for the children, and some grown-up good times, such as the “Pour Your Own Pint” event!
Music and dance feature prominently at every Irish festival, and this Rhode Island get-together is no exception – this year, the main stage will feature a host of exciting performers, who infuse a variety of musical genres with traditional Gaelic charm!
Some headliners of this year’s Newport Irish Festival include Shananagans, Calley McGrane and the Exiles, and the Town Pants.
There is so much to see and do at this lively event – a music hall, an Irish marketplace, main and courtyard stages, and a culture tent offer a variety of experiences and moods. If you’re in the Rhode Island area in early September, be sure to celebrate the end of summer by honoring your own Irish heritage at this fun-for-all-ages Irish festival.
