Kansas City Irish Fest – Sept. 2-4, 2011

The Kansas City Irish Fest is slated for this Sept. 2-4, 2011, and it will be held at the Crown Center, right in the heart of the downtown core.

The fun-filled schedule at this Gaelic-inspired annual event celebrates the wonders of Irish culture, through some amazing live entertainment, including Irish comedians (famous Irish comic Aidan Bishop will be doing standup this year), dancers, and musicians.

Some musical highlights from the festival’s main stage will include performances by McPeake, the Prodigals, the Elders, and Kildare.

For lively Irish dancing at its finest, attendees can enjoy the K.C. Irish Dance company, who add a little modern flair to their classic Irish stepdancing moves.

Kids need to learn about their Irish heritage, too, and this family-friendly festival is organized to inspire Irish pride in children while they have lots of fun.

A special kid’s stage features magicians, live theatre (a wonderful play, called High Kings of Ireland, will be performed each day of the festival), and special dress-up events that bring children into the onstage action.

These events are just a sampling of all the wholesome activities kids can enjoy at the Festival.
