Peterborough Celtic Festival – Ontario, Canada – August 5th& 6th, 2011

Ontario goes Celtic on August 5th and 6th, 2011, when the Peterborough Celtic Festival comes to town.

This lively and joyous Gaelic event celebrates the beauty and meaning of Celtic culture, including dancing, music, art, and storytelling.

During this fun-filled event, revelers will congregate in the Celtic village to sample traditional Celtic foods, such as Scottish haggis, Irish blood pudding (this is spiced sausage, and it’s much tastier than it sounds!), and savory meat pies.

The Celtic village also features fun and temporary Celtic henna tattoos, and decidedly un-Celtic (but tempting and delicious) fried Mars Bar desserts.

Live entertainment is the focus of this festival, and this year’s roster of wonderful musicians will not disappoint. If you love traditional Irish music, you’ll adore Family Tyes Irish Band and Frank Morressey of Celtic Cross; these two entertainers are just a sampling of the amazing live dance and music that will grace the festival’s stages.

The Peterborough Celtic Festival has it all…from pipe bands to a children’s play area, to an unforgettable sheep dog demonstration…if you’re in Ontario this August, be sure to attend this unique and popular Celtic event…
