Roanoke St. Patrick’s Day

The 23rd Annual Roanoke St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations, South Virginia’s premiere event for St. Patrick, will take place on Saturday March 12 from 10am to 5pm. Between 10am and 2pm there will be kids activities in the City Market Square. The Mc Donald’s Parade kicks off at 11am with over 2,500 marchers and 10,000 spectators. The Parade Awards will then be held at 2pm. There will be bands and performers on the stage and stand throughout the day also.

The Celebrations are one of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Parade’s Grand Marshall is Officer Bryan Lawrence and the Céilí King is Jim Baldwin. The 21st Annual Shamrock Hill Run will also take place on Saturday. The 1 mile Fun Run starts at 8.30am and the 5km Run starts at 9.15am. This year an extra special event has been organised also! Celtic Crossroads, direct from Ireland will play 2 concerts in the Mill Mountain theatre. Everyone is encouraged to join in in the festivities!
