Happy St. Patrick's Day
With the 17th of March just around the corner, I'd like to wish you a very happy St. Patrick's Day. Here in Dublin, we celebrate this national holiday with a 6 day festival of music, performance and plenty of craic.
There's no shortage, however, of celebrations worldwide, particularly in the US, where you'll find festivals and parades in every city and even smaller towns. Check out some of the festivals I've featured below.

Upcoming Irish Festivals and Parades
2009 North Texas Irish Festival – This festival will celebrate its 27th anniversary this year, and it runs from March 6th to March 8th. This year, festival organizers are proud to schedule a reading by renowned author and broadcaster Frank Delaney. Delaney will be reading from his newest work, Shannon, and he will do a book signing as well. Check out the full blog post for further details >>
Chicago’s South Side St. Patrick’s Day Parade – This parade is scheduled for March 15, 2009, beginning at midday. There will be a pre-parade party on Feb. 27th, with a full buffet, and beer and wine, in Merrionette Park. The party runs from 8 until midnight, and it is for adults (over 21) only. County Irish Fair To Feature Over 2000 Performers - The Los Angeles County Irish Fair and Music Festival, March 7-8 at the Fairplex in Pomona, offers a place to escape the problems of the day and enjoy the best in Irish music song, dance and pageantry featuring over 2000 performers.
