Well, it’s half way through the month, and we’ve got some great entries in the Facebook competition, but unfortunately there’s been no voting. After reviewing the competition format, I now realise that it’s way over complicated to try to get people voting. I only wish Facebook had some easier ways to  implement competition ideas. I’m sure they will eventually, I hope!

In the meantime, I’m going to continue the competition based on the stories that people post, and I’ll be the judge of the best story/comment myself. I kinda like the idea of being a judge anyway!

I’d love to see more stories/comments from people. If you know other Celtic jewelry lovers, why not share the page with them and they can enter the competition too.

As I said above, there’s some great stories in there already. I wanted to post one here to whet your appetite. Here’s a wonderful story by Susan Reardon Clennan about the Tara’s Diary bracelet:

I love the Tara’s Diary bracelet. I purchased one as soon as it was available from Irish Celtic Jewels. I have had great fun collecting different charms; each one symobolizes something in my life. This particular charm with the dangling Claddagh brings me back to memories of my Mother who adored all things Irish. Her parents originally came from Ireland and she grew up listening to the stories and folklore they told her. My Mom passed these stories down to us,her children. We loved the story of the Claddagh, the symbolism behind it. I can’t help but smile when I look at my Tara bracelet and catch sight of the Claddagh charm, it bring great memories of my Mom sitting at the kitchen table telling us stories of Ireland. Though she is no longer here with us, her words live on in our hearts and minds. It’s a wonderful thing to have something like this charm to set off memories from long ago. And the Claddagh symbolizes every thing you wish for the people in your life.

From today, I’ll be having a regular monthly competition on my Celtic jewelry Facebook page.  Here’s the details:

At the beginning of each month, I’ll select 10 products from my store: www.irishcelticjewels.com and create an album for them on Facebook.

To enter the competition, view the album of product photos, pick the one you like, and write your comment/story underneath the product.

The comment can be anything including:

• You may have the item already and have a unique story about it
• You might have another item that contains the same symbolism
• You may just love Celtic jewelry and want to share your reasons for this
• You may just be fascinated by Celtic design
• Really, the reasons are endless…(just like Celtic knots ; )

Then the voting starts: if you like the comment/story that people leave about a product, you can vote for them. To vote for someone you need to leave a comment on their story.

Use this format to vote: I vote for Sarah Byrne

Please include the first and last name of the person your voting for. Anybody can vote, and you can vote for as many people as you like.

To get as many votes as you can, let your friends, family and colleagues know about your story and ask them to vote. Please note however, they need to be a fan of the Celtic jewelry facebook page to do so.

A great way to tell your friends and family about the Celtic jewelry page is to click the “Share” button that appears after you publish your comment/story.

At the end of each month, The person with the most votes wins. In the case of a tie, I will pick the winner randomly.

Each months winner, can choose any silver jewelry item in the silver Celtic jewelry section of the website as their prize.

Please note: if choosing the family birthstone pendant, only the first birthstone is included.

The Trinity Knot is a Celtic symbol of ancient origin and one of the earliest symbols of Christianity predating the crucifix by hundreds of years. But what we want to know is: What is the Trinity knot officially known as?
