I love two-tone gold jewelry because it really is the best of both worlds. Setting each tone of gold against its “opposite” does wonders for bringing out the best qualities of each. Two-tone gold also allows people who usually favor one tone or the other to “step out a little” and try something new without totally leaving their comfort zone. I love the subtle inclusion of the triquetra on each side as well. I’ve always liked the “girl-wife-mother” interpretation of the triquetra, making it a perfect gift for the beloved lady in your life. Several years ago I was deployed to Afghanistan for a year in the midst of a divorce and my father… See more’s throat cancer. At nearly 60, my mother suddenly found herself caring for my two children and my ailing father while worrying about me. She ferried my kids to school every day, took my son to early morning hockey practices and my daughter to evening dance classes while caring for my father through weeks of chemo and radiation. She made sure that when I called, I never knew how bad things were for her. This past year without warning, she suffered a heart attack – again while I was away for military training. I was devastated at the thought that I might not see her again and wondered if she knew how much I loved her – how much I still needed her. My mother is the backbone of our family; strong beyond measure. But on that day she reminded us all, that she was human and life is unpredictable. My mother survived and I am grateful beyond measure. I want her to know that I heard her all those times when she thought I wasn’t listening. I heard her tell me to do something with my hair. I hear her tell me that I could be anything I wanted. I heard her tell me to clean my room when I pretended I didn’t. I heard her tell me to wear clean underwear in case I got into an accident. I heard her tell me every day how much she loved me. I heard her tell me that one day when I had children I would understand. For all that she has done, for the sleepless nights, for the worrying, for the sorrow, for the joy, for the daily phone calls, for the laughter, for all the love she has given, she deserves to be reminded how precious her life is to us.

On April 16th this year my husband and I will celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. I am searching for a special present for him to mark this event and to thank him for all he has done for me in the past 33 years.

This Celtic Knot wedding band is a lovely symbol from the land of his birth and of our forefathers.

We were only married a few years and were on holiday in Ireland one summer when he took the two children we had at that time (we have four now) for a walk on the beach of his lovely village of Rossport in the County of Mayo. When he returned his wedding ring was lost! He was horrified and we spent hours during the following weeks hoping to find it on the beach or in the grounds of his home. The ring was never found.

When the old house was demolished years later we both harbored secret hopes that it would turn up in the rubble! It never did.

Recently I had to have an operation and my husband took three months off work to care for me and to nurse me back to health. With such love and care I had no choice but to make a speedy recovery!

I want to give him this ring to replace the one he lost all those years ago and to thank him for being who he is.

Hi, my name is Erin Stafilatos. My first name “Erin” means Ireland. “Stafilatos” is Greek and people look at me funny when I tell them my last name because I look so Irish. I was born with a shock of red hair, blue eyes, and later developed a ton of freckles! All of the Irish and Celtic pieces in this album are exquisite. The one that I most resonate with is the Claddagh ring. I first learned of the Claddagh symbol when I was very little. My grandmother gave me a Claddagh ring and explained the meaning behind it. I really liked how it meant love, loyalty, and friendship. To me it represents what the Irish value in life! I wore that ring everyday until it actually broke!
