Dublin Irish Festival (Ohio, USA) – August 5 – August 8, 2011

Posted on | July 21, 2011 | by Ciara O'Brien | 3 Comments

This American celebration, which is held in Dublin, Ohio each August, is one of the world’s most popular Irish festivals.

Attendees come from all over the USA (and other countries, too!) to experience a taste of Gaelic music, dance, culture, and hospitality.

Siince over 40 million Americans share Irish ancestry, it’s only fitting that Dublin, USA should be the home of this exciting annual event; in fact, the thrilling roster of entertainment at this huge get-together rivals Dublin, Ireland’s own summer Irish fest!

This year, the 24th annual Dublin Irish Festival will run from August 5th to 8th, 2011; top Celtic performers, such as Dervish, Moya Brenna, and Gaelic Storm will play on the main stages, along with many other talented live performers.

Other highlights of this festival include whiskey and beer tasting sessions, Irish language workshops, darts tournaments, storytelling, and so much more. Little ones can explore the Wee Folk area, with all of its age-appropriate (and very Irish) activities.

If you’re planning to be in Ohio this August, make a point of attending this fun-filled summer celebration…

If it’s Irish music you need,
    Your voracious hunger to feed,
    You should have no fear,
    Dublin O is quite near,
Just get there with all proper speed.

My two Irish wolfhounds Maeve and Seamus will be in the Celtic Canines area on Saturday, so say hello! BTW, the whiskey tasting is a lot of fun.
